Buck 110 for EDC

With the proliferation of modern, one-hand opening tactical folders does anyone carry the stalwart Buck 110 anymore? I know this could be a question for the Buck category, but I was looking for a broader opinion.

I myself carry an Endura Wave as my EDC, but have long been a fan of the traditional 110. If there are any 110 EDC members out there I would love to hear your opinions for EDC carry as this is not the most discreet model.

Thank you,

Frangouch

EDC for me is a Leatherman Wave on the belt, with a medium stockman in my pocket.
I do keep a 110 on my belt, when hunting.

I carry a 110 on average 2 days a week. Sometimes I will carry it all week, sometimes I wont carry it at all but mine gets carried.

I'd carry the 110 a lot when out and about (and wearing jeans), if it weren't too long to be legal.

But around the house it is usually in my jeans pocket.

I tried it, but it was too bulky, the lack of one hand opening/closing, and the lack of a pocket clip ruins it for EDC.
I can't wear it in the pouch, as I can't have anything on my belt due to work regulations.
The 110 used to be a big fish in a small pond, but the pond has gotten bigger.
There are so many knives better for regular day to day carry that it gets overshadowed.

I carried a large Schrade (similar to the 110) for work and field use for years. It didn't seem to fit with a traditional office environment and I went to a smaller folder. You have to like the knife to want to carry it in a pouch on your belt.

I am toying with a large GEC slippie to carry in a leather pocket sleeve/sheath or in a pouch on my belt. I like the knife and I like the size, so I accomadate the carry method in my life. My life tends to be kind of rural and a knife fits.

I found the Endura a tad large for me even though I own two. I went with an Delica when I carry a Spydie.

Rarely, and I mean rarely does my 110 ever see pocket time. I've kinda made it a tradition to carry it on Independence Day but that's about it. It just doesn't make sense to me for an EDC. It is super heavy, thick, no pocket clip, slow to open, and slow to close. Too many excellent modern pocket knives out there nowdays. I guess its the same reason why I shoot modern semi-automatic firearms instead of black powder rifles. I do love what it stands for though, and I wouldn't ever fault anyone for EDCing it if thats their thing. Its just not mine.

Not me. Mine sits in a desk drawer along with its belt sheath. For daily carry I go with much smaller lighter slipjoints. I used to need the 110 a long time ago but I no longer do.

I love the 110 but it's too big/heavy for eDC for me given I work in an office. When I'm in the woods I typically have a 110 on my belt. I generally EDC a Leatherman Wingman these days. The Wingman is a little smaller and lighterand has a belt clip.

I carried a Buck 110 and then a Parker-Fein damascus (like the Buck 110) with a self made/installed thumbstud in a belt pouch for nearly 30 years while teaching college. No one ever raised an eyebrow. IMHO, it is too big for pocket carry and given today's knife paranoia (esp in urban settings), probably a smaller knife might be in order.

You might want to take a look at a Swiss Army Knife, something like a Victorinox Compact or Tinker. For some strange reason, Swiss Army knives don't tend to bring out the knife phobia in people like some other knives.

While still on active duty, from mid 1970s 110 was my EDC. After being required to transfer to the retired list in 1996, started carrying a KA-LOK 2227 much of the time, then when traveling out west to visit kids and in-laws, the 110 disappeared. Replaced it in 1996 and only carry it when I know I am going to need it.

Not a 110, but i've had my 112 on me in the belt sheath everyday lately.

I carry a Buck 500 in a belt sheath most weekends. Every once in a while Ill take a 110 out but its always in a belt sheath.

The 110 as an EDC knife, is kinda subject to the carrier. It's a hoss of a folder, and there seem to be a plethora of more modern, ergonomic folders in the same size rang that weigh less. Still I enjoy carrying mine from time to time, but not as a try EDC knife. A "Kwik Thumb" is a welcome addition. They've been around for some time bearing the One armed Bandit moniker. They weigh a tone, but I do find the added pocket space a slight advantage of a belt sheath.

I still use my old 110 from time to time win I have a lot of cutting to do. Plus I like the fact it carries in a case. After over 50 years you still can't beat the old 110.

I carry a 110 on average 2 days a week. Sometimes I will carry it all week, sometimes I wont carry it at all but mine gets carried.

About the same for me.

I was just this week considering getting a custom 110 and carrying it a lot more.

PS- I use a "One Armed Bandit" on mine to make it a one hander.

I'm actually pretty upset with myself, since I have a pretty large knife collection but I don't have a Buck 110. I intend to rectify this error with an S30V 110 from Buck's custom shop. I plan to carry it on my belt in a sheath, where the knife's weight and thickness will be a non-issue.
