Was this knife etched at Buck's new factory in El Cajon? Thanks DM

I'd be interested in that information also. I have the entire 10 knife series and my Ed. II is serial number 1522.

Plumber,I think it/they may be from El Cajon because a while back (a month or two) someone posted a letter Mr.Shortes wrote about setting up the etching room at Buck's factory in El Cajon. With it they posted a picture of a 103 which was one of the first knives etched by Buck in El Cajon.334 Dave and I commented (having met Mr.Shortes) that the letter seemed to be his vernacular. If I recall correctly Aurum, only etched for Buck for about 8yrs..From 1974-81 or 82.I'd have to look it up in our magazine but someone will state it more certain. Which would have been about the time the new plant was opened and got rolling.DM

Dave,I checked and found Aurum Etchings did etching for Buck from 1976 thru 1989.June edition 2006.Some of the Aurum employes went on to continue doing work for Buck until 1999.December issue 2006.Angie Williams is the one who did most of the art work initial drawings and etching for the Harley Davidson 110 designs.Which is who did mine.I don't know how many years your collection of II edition spans. But she probably did yours too.
So, in the 90's was when Buck had an etching room set up in use.DM
