So I got this 2014 buck 110 that has the buck USA anvil 50 stamp on the blade. The blade is s30v and it has brass bolsters and black micarta scales. Any ideas on the history? The box code is 0110BKSBE-B

Your knife was a special run for Best Made, a merchandising company, later bought out by Duluth Trading Company. The handle is black G10 and was a run of 200 knives. 2014 was the 50th anniversary year for the 110, '64-'14 which is the reason for the 50/anvil symbol on the tang. All 110's made in 2014 were marked in a similar fashion. Deciphering the model code, 0110BKSBE
BK = black,
S = non serrated,
BE = Best Made

I only found this out by reading someone else's post, and only a few weeks ago. The method I used was weird and unreliable, kind of like that guy in the mirror every morning...

dsutton24 dsutton24 Grasping at straws but I could swear direct image posting did not work a long time ago.
I wonder if software changes have improved the process.

Thank you so much for the information. It really looks like micarta scales and not g10. Was there any made with micarta?
