Did you all see the the above end on the famous auction site last night.

Did I miss something with this price?? It’s a s30v knife which has a low mintage and some not that attractive handles.. still only a 200$ knife in my opinion.

I used to own both this version and the brass version both created for the BCCI

Sometimes those auction prices are way out of wack! On the high end usually, but once in a while there's a bargain. You also have to remember, there is a lot that happens between the end of the auction and the end of the PP six-months return period...

It’s a 87$ knive when bcci was selling it
So I would say the extreme price would be between 200-275 (that’s the extreme I would say ) but $880 I can not imagine

Well, I've always said value is in the eye (or in the case of knives, pocket) of the beholder. Someone must have really wanted it. I find that bone pattern beautiful, has that sort of vintage/pocket worn look. Reminds me a little of the old Case knives. But I agree I wouldn't have paid more than two Benjamin Franklin's for that one.

Well.......TWO people would have had to really want it because someone has to bid against someone else to get the bid way up.

I suspect that two people put in crazy high bids to ensure that they'd be high bidder.........this works ok if only one person does it on an item, but if two do it somebody gets stuck with a crazy high price.

I also suspect that the someone backs out of the purchase.

I've been trying to find deals on that auction site but they seem to never really show up. New knives are higher than retail and the NOS is beyond ridiculous. Much like the one posted above

I've found a few bargains on the bay..but if you count the time I spent searching for one it was no bargain at all. I have more time than money lol!

I actually know the seller as I have previously bought from him. He has stated the buyer paid within 1 hour of the auction ending.
