Well it's the fourth quarter of the year. Still only seeing preorders on the retail sites. Anyone heard any schuttlebutt on a date these will be hitting our mailboxes? I've got one on order with Larry so I know it'll be headed my way as soon as he gets it. Was just looking for a little news if any is available.

I've had one, as part of the four knife set, for some time now; the Lochsa is definitely worth the wait. It is what the 110 Tactical that the club sold several years should have been!!

Are they only going to do this in a limited run? And how easy is it to open with a thumbstud?

It's a nice knife, but the engineering of the thumb stud is terrible.
My thumb slips right over the top of the thumb stud like it wasn't even there.
I would think anyone wanting to have one for a user would have to add their own thumb stud.
I also think the three screws for the pocket clip should be added to the reverse side so you don't have holes showing.

I've seen the Federal and Magnolia being sold as clearance at an online seller, $125 and $136 respectfully IIRC. Bit surprised, I would have thought they would have sold better.

I was tempted by the box set but just not my thing. I really appreciate them but just not for me.

Had high hopes for the Lochsa as a user but it is a good point about the thumb stud. I have a 426 blade Ark Knives put into a 110 frame for me that works well, no pocket clip though. Filler screws on the Lochsa would have been a nice touch, not std screws since they add more thickness but fillers.

I believe it's to reverse the pocket clip for left handed.

I am not talking about those holes. I am actually referring to the pins that hold the knife together. On the back, above the clip... What happened to those holes?

I can't wait for the 500 to be gone. Maybe they'll come up with a retail version. I can't imagine spending that kind of dough on a knife I'm going to use every day.

The two Lochsa's I ordered last December showed up today with none of the issues of the Lochsa I posted earlier in this thread from my boxed set.
The spare holes for the pocket clip came with screws and the pins were set at the right depth.
Blades are centered…the knives look great!

Still, the bad engineering on the thumb studs is the same. Might as well not even have them because you can't use them.
They are too close to the frame, way shorter than the frame and even if your thumb could get to them they are a little too far forward for me.

Here are my two that just came today;

Those look great Stumps! I can live with the thumbstud issue. Gonna be checking my mailbox extra often until mine arrives.

They look spectacular, but the thumb stud thing is a bit disconcerting. Perhaps they should have just scalloped out an area on the frame directly below the stud. Or maybe a thumb-disk added to the spine of the blade would have worked better.

I have one of the add on studs (set screw style) to my 110 and it is usable (sits a tad higher), but is still not the best set up. The knife just wasn't designed for a stud, and the spring is so heavy and or stiff that its hard to open (worse than any Triad Lock I have tried).

Mine was waiting on me when I got home a few minutes ago, thank you Larry! Not a single issue other than the obvious one regarding the thumb studs. Really like the weight and feel of it with the G-10. Going in my pocket now as part of my EDC rotation. Was wondering if there was something that could be made to straddle the spine that would be held in place by the thumb studs that would act like the wave feature on an Emerson?

As mentioned about I might try relieving the scale under the thumb stud and see if that would work. If you can't move the thumb stud up makes sense to move the area under the stud down. Was just looking at mine some more and relieving the area under the thumb stud won't work as the stud pretty much lands halfway on the G10 scale and half on the nickel bolster.

I received my Buck Lochsa knife today and the knife is great. Perfectly centered and it looks and feels great in the hand. The only thing I can criticize is the thumb stud as stated in the earlier posts is a bit worthless.

Still love the knife and am glad I got one.
