Here it is in pocket. it sits well and isnt uncomfortable or heavy feeling after over a few hours of carry. The clip looks nice, and its cool having the 110 finally as a 1 handed opening.

Oh yeah, and im a lefty so i got the clip and thumb stud for lefty carry. If you want to see a right handed version check out this thread on his website. http://strsbackyardknifeworks.blogspot.com/2010/06/buck-110-upgrade-adding-thumb-stud-and.html

Glad STR was able to help you!

He does great work, I have one of his smaller Bucks and like it a lot with the clip and stud added.

I think it was a 503 that he did for me. No pics handy, need to pull it out of the safe. Carried it in garrison overseas but put it away when I came home. Nice set up though.

That is absolutely awesome. Where can I get that done to a 110 for me, both the thumb stud and pocket clip.

Okay, I absolutely need these mods. Like, now. I carry my buck 112 everywhere, and this would make it so great. Hard to improve on perfection, but this is close!

Forgot to ask, how much did this run you? I really want this. I also say his lo-ride pockt clip. does he do that with the bucks?

it cost me 60 bucks...the clip alone is 30..thumb stud and shipping bring it up another 30...

you can email him or contact him in some way to get the specifics that you want. i chose the clip that lets the knife stick out a little, but you could get one that is really low rider.

yes you definately do...this makes a $30 knife more worth while than a much more expensive one...and i really dont feel bad beating up on my buck...cuz it can take it. Even just putting a clip on ($30) makes this knife better than many others...the 110/112/classic buck models are just so manly!!!

Funny Story....

I was in a town near mine with a buddy of mine, and a guy was riding by on a bike with his family. I had my 110 in its sheath at that time since it was before i got it modded, and he slowed down a bunch, and looked intently at me. He then just blurted out "IS THAT A BUCK 110?" i said yes, and he was like 'WOW THAT IS A CLASSIC KNIFE!" i was like yeah it is...its awesome! we then went into a discussion, and he mentioned that he had recently acquired a Benchmade onslaught, and he really loves it.. HAHAHA its just funny, and fun to approach people and and ask them what knife they are carrying. I ask rescue personnel all the time since I volunteer in a hospital. one dude was actually carrying a spyderco...i was proud! :)

Well thats my little tidbit story... enjoy

Which one???? (pics?)

This one or one like it I'm sure. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=571847&highlight=buck+501

I think it was a 501. Had to be because I don't recall ever doing one of these mods to a smaller one. I think I've only done it on the 501 Esquire/Squire models and some Duke models when I was asked.

The carbide drill bit to drill the blade hole for the stud is 2/3rds the cost on the stud mod. I prefer a certain type and they cost about $20 to $22 after shipping. Anyway, thanks guys and I'm glad you like your knife Orchunter.
