Does anyone know someone who can replace the blade on a Buck 110 with a new one in SV30. I emailed buck and they said the only offer those blades as an option on new knives. I have had this knife since I was 15 (34 years) and would like to upgrade it.

Let's move this over to the Buck Forum where you're likely to get plenty of info.

leroy <triple-r-knives@cox.net>, try this link alot of guys on here recommend his work highly hope this helps

Just my humble opinion, but if your 110 is that old, and the original blade is still good, I wouldn't change it.
Heck, you could pick up another 110 on an auction site cheap, that has a bad or broken blade, and have the blade on it switched out.

YMMV

buck wont up grade blades on privet knives any longer
joe told me that they need to keep them for custom orders only now

but this guy may consider the handle the main object of smental value
a friend of my neighbor felt this way and had the blade replace when it got broke
you can alsways buy a cusetom and send both to leroy Because
U can get what U want at RRR knives

As suggested above, Leroy is your best bet to do the S30V blade swap.

But if he has none, you could check out eBay (or even their own sites) for a cabelas or Bass Pro 110 w/S30V blade, and send both to Leroy for a 2-way swap. That way, you would get your 34-yr old w/S30V, and a user/beater/tacklebox 110 w/420 blade...:thumbup:

WScott, Welcome . I'd keep the 2 dot 110 and just set it aside . Then buy a 110 Alaskan Guide from Cabela's to use . Their a great knife, you'll enjoy it . Many here have them and they're worth the money . DM

Hard to beat the Cabelas AG110. Its a lot of knife for the money..
If you want to spend a little more change, you could get one of the Desert Ironwood 110's like Flat got recently

I follow that logic with all my knives. I only carry a "collectible" Buck for special occasions.

But I can also see why someone who has carried a 110 (or any Buck) for 34 years might want to extend the time so he could say, "I've carried this for 40 years...45 years...*50* years!!!"... ;)

All I can say is, "This has been in my desk drawer for 10 years!!!"... :(

thanks for all the good input ya'll. I have carried this knife hunting since I was kid and would hate to lose it. I only bring it hunting these days when I feel I need it's good luck powers. Not sure what I'll do but will check out the custom knife options mentioned in above posts.

I bought a used Buck 110 Cabellas S30V knife at a gun show. Knocked the blade out of it and dropped the S30V blade into a 186 Titanium handle. This makes a good combination.

Although we have given a few different options, remember, its your knife.
There is no right or wrong way to do it. Just do whatever works for you...

yea he was showing it off on a day when he though i had gone back to school
did not have a sheath for it and said he got it at a pawn shop or yard sale
boss fired him at the end of the week ....

the gater show ... i bought a ramy 110 with TC on it
put it in the display and layed the 110 from the display down and
some one said some thing and i neglected to pick it up i guess...
spent the rest of the show looking for it ...
no luck.. but this was my fault as i did not take care if it ...

Ya know, that struck a nerve with me.....back in the early 80's, I had a jerk kipe one of my very first handmade knives from me that I left on my company work table...he went as far as to sand off my touchmark even. It wasn't too fancy, just a work knife I made for myself. I used a micarta set of scales and he tried to do a self taught whittle job to cover up his deed and make it look different. Fortunately, the other guys in the shop were on to his "attempt". He finally figured he was tacked to the wall by all the sh*t he got over it from the guys on the job and he sought me out alone and tried to give it back. I told him to keep it, I didn't want something back that he had butcherd up and I told him he could keep it and look at that POS knife from now on and think about how he got it. It got to him and he eventually moved on...I guess I could have pushed it and got him fired over it but, I don't roll like that and.... I'll bet he never lost track of that memory he got handed to him over the theft of that blade either.
You just don't do crap like that.....
