Hey gents....FYI

My wife gave me a Buck 110 folder as a Christmas gift about 34 years ago and it ...and the wife...are still serviceable and in fine shape.

I did however get another new S30V 110 from Cabela's..... just because .... I rec'd the new folder today and let me tell you, I am ....very pleased.....

One nice knife!

I am glad to hear about your wife!

Yes, the 110 never goes out of style. It was my first knife and I still have it-it is about 33 years old-I guess that it is time to get a new one! ;)

Have you had a chance to use the S30V 110 yet? I haven't had the chance and am wondering what folks think of it.

Mr. Houser--as a longtime fan of the 110 (I have three, not counting two 560s), I'm excited about this great old shank being available in S30v. Is the heat treating supervised by Paul Bos? Additionally, I wonder if this steel will be an option at Pete's Custom Knife Shop? Can you tell me if the brown sheath offered by Cabela's is the side-seam type or the one that mirrors the original black model?

I thank you and everyone at Buck for your attention to quality and customer service.

I cast my vote for the 110 as well. It is a swell knife that never seems to go out of fashion. Amazing!! :)

Nope, I haven't had a chance to use it.....but our "Annual Elk Chase and ATV Rodeo" trip is coming up in September and I expect to do some gutting and skinning.....as well as cutting open the saran wrap on the Safeway steaks....so, I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks to this thread, I am going to have a slim wallet too. Was looking to buy some knife in s30v steel to compare it's performance against my other favorite steels like bg42 and Bucks 420hc. Now since the 110 is my favorite user knife, I have to get one at Cabela's too with s30v. What a deal and Thanks to all of you, i know it is available and will have to spend money I don't have yet but it's for a good cause. Cause I have knife fever and it has to be a Buck. Went to a Farm and fleet a while back and since the Buck 110 was only $25, had to get one even though i have 6 already. Been using ever since and keep it razer sharp. So it is time to order next perfect Buck knife in s30v and nitrite coated to boot. Thanks every one, especially Buck. Knife happy
