This is a Buck 110 NS frame with a Buck 486 Drop Point blade installed in it. I took 110 DAVE's suggestion and notched the thumb stud area on the handle. Makes it much easier to use the thumb stud and gives a nice look to the knife. What do you guys think?

Eric

I think it really looks nice and very practical also. I have kinda got used to some of the one hand openers and to have a 110 or a 112 really seens to be a very good idea for some applications, where you have to hold something in one hand and open the knife with only one hand. How much does it add to a knife in cost?

Nice. You did a good job on notching/beveling the stud-reach on the frame. It's subtle enough not to look like a cut-out and appears to be very functional.

I like it Eric! Nice work. What handles are on that one? I like the wood too!

I'm not sure what wood that is. Looks like a cherry wood. It was factory on a Buck 110 Workman knife if that helps any.
Thanks for the comments guys. I like the looks of this knife. I wish Buck would do a 110 Drop Point blade stamped BUCK 110 or BUCK CUSTOM.

Eric.

I like it alot Eric, like bucksforus says, once you get used to the one handers, its tough to carry others even as much as I love the 110.

That's the nicest-looking thumbstud knife I've seen in a long time.

I'm not a fan of thumbstuds, myself, so I'm not easy to convince.

Nice work, as always!

That is beautiful!!!
I wish that would be a production Buck offering...

Regards,
Mike

That knife is beautiful but I've always found Buck 110s & 112s don't need a thumbstud to be opened one-handed. Just hold the closed knife tip-up, pinch the blade between your thumb and index finger and snap your hand downward...the knife opens due to the weight of the handle.

A really great looking knife. My EDC is now a 486 and I like big locking backs so this is the best of two worlds for me.
