Buck 110 or Greco Griffon?

Which do you think would be a better EDC hard use folder? I like both equally and am having trouble deciding... the buck would be a P.C.K.S. version.

The Buck 110 with BG-42 blade would be my choice of the two.

The blades look to be VERY different on those folders. The Griffon appears to be a thick beefy blade. You gain strength, but lose cutting efficiency. The Buck has a very thin and efficient cutting blade, but definitely isn't a prybar or a makeshift screwdriver. I'd base your decision on what you'll be using it for.

I would go with the Greco Griffon ;)
"tacs" are more the thing nowadays,
although "ol' reliable" Buck 110 isn't bad either. I personally would go with something with a pocket clip,as belt sheaths are rather "old hat" and can be a pain to access in an emergency. It's clearly a matter
of choice ( or preference ;))

AET ;)

Well lets see...I won’t be stabbing a tank  but will be used for just about anything else...:D I do like the strength of the Greco’s but, the PCKS's have the looks:confused:

I use to think that but ever since I started carring on my belt everything just feels right:D

Will'em , Will'em go for the 110 and never
worry about having a good knife at hand ever
again. A Pete's 110 to boot!!

While other knives may have zip & flash along with
gee whizz the 110 just wants to know where you
want to cut and for how long, then ....does it!!
Pete's 110's add just enough "my knife" to make
it a joy to carry and use.

Ditto on the 110's. I've got a bunch of knives, but I've pretty much got one of the PCKS 110's on my belt everyday. Today it's Asian Waterbuffalo scales, nickel bolsters, and a damascus blade.

I sharpened and stropped that blade yesterday, and was shaving 1/4" slices off paper with each pass. It's a sweet knife with a sweet blade, and always handy. I find the sheath on the belt the most convenient carry.

That’s what I was thinking of except with BG-42 how’s it feels? I like the water buffalo scales and nickel bolsters.

I have a PCKS 110 w/BG-42 and other than my Custom kitchen knife it is the sharpenst knife i own. Its not a prybar by any means but it will cut like crazy due to the thin hollow grind, its GREAT for shaving wood for campfires. Its probably also one of the most useful blade designs i have and had 2 customs made with similer blade shape cause i like it so much.

And it is an extremely good EDC. I never have to be afraid that I will damage it, or the edge. It is a knife of enormous character and strength, and it really is built like a tank. Despite it's very thick (.210)blade, it is an adequate, if not good every day blade... unless you just want it for cutting paper. You can rely upon it... utterly, and it will never let you down. The only other knife I can feel like this about, is the Sebenza, and the Sebenza costs 3 times the price. Nuff said:)

Buy one.... you will NOT regret it. In fact it's so cheap, you could probably have both.

Regards,

Doh’ and I almost had a decision:D well lets see, macho tank or beautiful work of art? Strength or paper slicing power? I need more info.

Well after some long hard thinking I’m getting the griffon. The 110 looks good but I want a user and I’d be afraid to use it hard. I already have a dangler and that things tuff as nails. Just the user I need… Plus always Love being able to take apart my knives and I can do that with all the Greco’s.

John Greco has a great reputation for making bullet proof blades.

Read my comments about this knife, on this forum, about 2 weeks ago.
