I would like to see if we can use our combined resources to develop a more reliable form of knife testing. I have suggested the Buck Model 110 (standard steel, plain edge) as our first experimental test case. Please review the thread below and post on THIS THREAD if you wish to participate.

I'd love to help, but my 110 has anything but a factory edge on it. it belonged to my father for a long time before he broke the tip off. Then, a while later, I got the knife and fixed the tip, and reprofiled the edge. I do have a suggestion on the test though. pick a common cord (para cord, jute twine etc.) and set a groundrule that you can make only one pass with the blade. when it fails to cut you are done.

"Ladies and gentlemen, hobos and tramps,
Cross-eyed mosquitoes and bowlegged ants;
I'm here before you to stand behind you
To tell you something I know nothing about...
Next Thursday, which is Good Friday
There's a women's meeting for men only.
Free admission, pay at the door,
Pull up a chair and sit on the floor.
It's a long crawl back to the garden
So get me off my hands and knees
'Cause the church keeps spittin' me out
Now we all know where they're comin' from...
We just don't know where they're goin'."

Sounds interesting.

Now if we could only get Buck to provide the knives to us
