I am unable to find info describing the slim bolster and liner casting to the thicker wider version. Though it must be during the period when the third line (USA)was added.

would that be still inverted? But I have a few two liners and they are mixed. Some thin some thick.

i am interested when Buck began putting a radius on the bolsters and wooden scales.
I can believe owners would have taken off hard edges for comfort skinning game.

I am mostly confused why info on slim vs thick frames on vintage knives is not easy to find. Google searches turn up the ‘new skim buck knives’.

Thanks for providing info on these factory changes. LOL they produced so many of these little buggers but finding them with full blades and tips is something else.

I can’t answer your questions on dates and changes. But my Dad definitely slimmed and rounded his before Buck started doing it. To the point that the old I bought in the 80’s seemed squared off compared with his.

Ok. ThankYou.

One can find handle narrow info and thickness info in the pdf found included in this great collection of resources.

This would be best asked in the Buck Forum. LOTS of great members there with loads of info and knowledge!

Agree. Moving thread.
