Does anyone out there know how much Buck would charge for new scales on a 110?

Is $62 for a 110 three dot MIB a good price?

Thanks

Mike,
$62 for a mint in box three dot is a shade on the high side. However, as many here are quick to point out, a fair price is what someone is willing to pay. There are not that many "mint" three dot 110's that come up, so it's really up to you and how much you're willing to pay. I'm not sure what Buck would charge for a scale replacement. It may take a call into their customer service department.

Does Buck even do scale replacements???

You might be better off talking to Leroy Remer. I expect Leroy has worked out a quick & easy way to do it by now... ;)

It is rare but we have had to replace just the scales on a 110 before. I can't send you the scales but if you send me the knife, I will replace them for you under the warranty.

The problem is the scales appear to be some type of plastic with WIX Filters ingraved into the scales it is a X (1990). The snap on the sheath is doing terrible things to the scales. A nylon sheath would probably be the ticket. I would much rather have wood which probably will not be covered under warranty. Guess I will have to deal with it!

I do thank you for your offer!

You will be hearing from me soon enough when I call on you to build my Custom 110!

Put some self sticking felt on the back of the snap to protect the scales.
Send it in if you'd rather have wood. You heard it from Joe yourself. He'll make you a happy camper.

That felt trick MK told me about works. I used the felt side of a small Velcro sticky set and have carried my Alaskan in it for weeks. Been through rain and crawling around on my back under the car and along side a bike on concrete. Scratched up the external sheath button snap itself, but the knife remains pristine with no scratches at all.
