It seems as though the new sheaths that coming with the 110s just do not fit right. I just recently ordered a Buck custom with the black sheath. The pocket is smaller than on previous sheaths and you have to force the knife into it.

I have never had this problem with previous Buck 110s. I have a couple of older Bucks with the tan sheaths and they fit great from the start and still do.

Charge me a couple of dollars more but please do not cheapen up what was once a quality product.

There has been a lot of discussion about the sheaths on the Customs. Scroll down some and you will find It. I am still waiting on mine. There are some hints as to how to stretch it out.

This is making me wonder how much thicker the sambar stag handles are versus the regular wood handles that the sheath is designed for. At least most that have had sheath problems seem to have ordered the sambar.

I don't thnk it is a sheath quality problem, just not the right fit to the customs.

And Welcome to the Forums! Sorry your First post has to be kind of a bummer for you.

I got my Custom with Asian Water Buffalo scales just the other day and I had the same problem... Even my regular Buck 110 had trouble fitting in it. I ended up soaking the sheath in water over night and stuffing the old buck into it just to stretch it out a bit. Luckily, my new custom fits in my old leather buck sheath and I plan to get a custom sheath made anyways. Hope you can fix your sheath Yooperman, or if not you could always get one custom made.

EDITED to add:

here the link to the thread that LFH was talking about: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=375642
Also, just wanted to say that now that the new sheath has been soaked and stretched a bit, my new custom fits it nice and snug!

FWIW...I have several old 110 sheaths and they have stretched to the point that the 110 wobbles around a good bit. I don't know but Buck maybe trying to correct that with the newer ones.

The new tan sheath that came with my CS 110 did not appear to be of any lesser quality than the black one of last year or the years before. It did have the goo that others have posted about...and was really tight...but I wanted a black one and Buck is taking care of that:). Preston

I'll be glad to swap anyone new black for new tan. I just like the tan.. Have several.

I was surprised how snugly my Alaskan Guide Series Buck 110 fits into it's TAN sheath, when I received it. I don't know if it's the same as the Buck custom sheaths, but it's definitely different (subtly) from my older standard buck sheaths.

I picked up a user Alaskan off ebay that is slightly looser in the sheath than the new ones that I just got in from Cabelas.

I have it in the sheath tip up, blade facing rear (left) as I would wear it. I haven't noticed any difficulties getting it in and out of the sheath while wearing it. It doesn't just fall in, but I like it a tad snug so in the event I don't get it snapped it won't fall out if I am doing something and get it upside down.

I would love for Buck to offer a higher end line of sheaths for some of their more popular knives like the 110 or 112.
