Guys,
Not sure if there is a thread somewhere or not but does anyone have any
pictures of some original Buck 110 sheaths of the time/era (any vintage)?
I would like to try and pick some up when my knives start
arriving but would like to try and fit them with the appropriate sheath.
Thank you.

Sean

i found a 110 sheath in a pawn shop. they had thrown it in their knife junk box. they had lots of old sheaths. might be worth a try. seems like i got it for $ 1. and they had more than 1. paul

Thanks for the info fellas. I think I will just try and grab some of the oldest one's I
can find and make do with those. I have a couple of knives coming with no sheath
so that is the reason I was asking about them. Take care.

Good luck,my favorite buck 110 sheaths are the older cut away style with the higher leather belt loop, they are easier to get your knife in and out of,and ride just perfect on the belt, the newer ones don't seem to be as durable as the older thick leather sheaths, and the sheaths ride way too high for me they snag on everything .

Pictures of factory sheaths sound like a good idea. I only have one of the newer wally world 110's sheath and a picture isn't needed.

Sheaths was a topic Joe H. covered in his presentation at the 20yr. reunion . The Buck 3 times snap came out near the time of the year dates . The scalloped top,two rivet 110 sheath is the older style . Early 70's it may or may not have 110 stamped on the back and usually has BUCK in smaller lettering, fancy style stamped on the front flap and is of thinner leather and more tight . After this they got more square at the top and larger lettering with 110 on the back and more roomy . There were three companies (maybe 4)that made sheaths for Buck from 1970-85 each w/ its own design so, its easy to determine which one . Sean, the sheaths you mention--at Buck's 20yr. Joe put out several boxes of older sheaths and allowed members to pick thru them for purchase at 1$ each . Several loaded up more than others . But I saw many of the type your looking for in those boxes . DM

Just now looking back at my notes; in late 67-69 is when the model # began to be stamped in the belt loop of the sheath and the snap had no stamp (can be found during this time) . During this time there were rivets w/ divits on the back of the sheaths of the 100 series (not the 110) . This was the only time this item is found and only one company used this method . They made sheaths for Buck for one year, 1969 . Making these easy to date . So, the Buck stamped snaps started in 1970 or early 71 . Will dig for more later . DM
