Buck 110 Slim blade length question

Let me start off by saying I am not attempting to bash Buck. The two knives I want to discuss are my first Buck's.

So I ordered a Buck 110 Slim Pro micarta after researching it. While waiting I stopped by a knife store when I was on a road trip and picked up a blue Slim Select 110 that they had a couldn't pass up price on. The sales clerk picked the Select out of the drawer at random.

Anyway now that i have both of them in hand I noticed a difference in the blade lengths between the two and decided to measure. The Pro has a 3 5/8" blade and the Select has a 3 1/2" blade both measured from handle to tip of blade. Everything I check says the Slims are supposed to have 3 3/4" blades

I have emailed Buck but haven't heard back yet, they are busy and I understand that.
Is this common with Buck 110's?

Must be as it seems the measurements of blade length can vary on 110's although it is specified at 3-3/4" but can vary depending on how or who finally sharpens it in production. Having been a Union Millwright in the past our tolerances for setting up production and machinist equipment and machines ran between .003 and .006 but actual production products could have greater or lessor tolerances. So far it seems from standard production to custom shop can be quite a leap.

Tx308, don't fret over it. I have a 426 / (1993) that has a blade length of 3 9/16". At the most , when I got it this had a blade 3 5/8". At first I wondered how that happened. Now, I don't care about the missing 1/8". I don't notice not having it when I cut something either. DM

Measure the actual "sharp" blade, I'll bet they are probably close to the same. The Pro and Select have different frames and the pivot offset might be different. Too lazy to go measure one myself. /Roger

I like David's advice, not something to fret over.
