A chap on a UK forum I visit is looking for a slippy that looks like a Buck 110.
Well try as I might I can't think of one. If there was such a thing (with a 3 inch non-locking blade too) I think it would sell like hot cakes here in the UK.

Any ideas?

You may want to try the guys at Amherst Cutlery. If there is enough demand they may make a batch for you guys.

why yes.. mater of fact..
a 110 liner lock ... some made pre 97 with script Buck
limited edition in 97 block letters..
not a lock back and may meet the laws over there, thumb stud can be removed.. could be possible to disable the liner lock also...

Haebbie told me that at home, if the blade locks in any manner and has a thumb stud that it is not ok to carry..
UK may have tighter laws .. who knows
btw: the bad guys in UK found that real sharp pointy knives will go through a bullet proof vest! so police now ware chain mail again!

A Buck 110 lookalike slippy.

The more I think of it the more I think it would be a great little knife.

Plus it would have a good market in Europe. Spyderco did it with the UKPK.

Here in the UK you can carry a lock knife if you have a good reason, such as for work, camping, otherwise you can only carry a sub 3 inch bladed slippy.

Well, the 112 is a 110 lookalike...and it's 3"...and you could make it non-locking, with a little bit of work (you could also take the hawksbill off while you were at it)... :)

But looking for a Buck 317 [?] might be a lot easier...and cheaper, if you're not too handy with tools... :D

Not sure what spring tension you'd get if you de-activated the lock?

I'm guessing not much.

The 317 looks nice but its not really like a 110 IMO

A non-locking 55 would be more like the 110?

Trax,

You may be right, but 317s are selling outside of reason on price......300$s

I'm thinking that instead of grinding the hump off the backspring, you could grind the rear edge of the blade lock off...spring tension would stay the same...but you may be right; there's not a lot of spring tension to begin with... :(
