I have 2 of these 110's by Cabela's stag handle version. One is a user one is put uo. I was taking a close look at the knife and noticed that the blade is a 2004 stamp. But these knives were made in 2006, box actually is dated 11-2-06. The blade on this knife is also lighter than the blade on the other knife. The other knife the coating is jet black and shiny. This blade is more of a grayish, resmenbles the blade on my Vanguard Alaskan guide. Has anyone else come across this?

I do not have the Stag version, but my 2 110 AG's are the same way.
No difference in performance for either, just a slight cosmetic difference.

Re the 2004 in the 2006 box.....it appears to me that what happens is that the order comes in and is filled in late 2004 and some of the knives sit around waiting at the factory so long (for various reasons) that they end up being shipped in a box that's dated a year or two later.

I recently got some 120s made with the Idaho stamp in 2005 that came in boxes dated 2006. It may have had a lot to do with the turmoil of the move from California to Idaho.

It doesn't bother me. I was just curious since the knife itself wasn't offered from Cabela's until 2006. Its actually the one in my collection that is mismatched. I did what some would consider unthinkable. I took the better looking stag as my user. I was just wondering since the box has a differant date than the tang if it would lessen the value of it.

Also have a few boxes that don't match the actual year of mfg.

I don't think the matching of the tang and box dates is an issue. What is more important is the model/version number on the box matching the knife.

thanks. Yes the model# and version on the box do match the knife.
