Hello,
I have searched the net and Ebay trying to find something out about this knife and can't come up with much information and was hoping a expert could shed some light on it. I got this knife for Christmas, I believe back in the late 80's early 90's. It's a Buck folding lockblade, Damascus steel, stamped 110V, it has nickle silver bolsters and seem to remember the box saying real bone handles but could be mistaken. I believe the retail price was $150.00 but may be mistaken about that also, my memory is not that great anymore. When I search the net, I can't seem to find one identicle to it and the ones I do see are very expensive. I have taken good care of it through the years, however, had a Kershaw 1040 that I did not take the best care of and found out recently it was a prized collector's item. Is this knife rare or common? I have always used my knives and never considered myself a collector. At any rate, I would like to know a little about it if anyone would share some information. If it is rare, I may sell it to aquire other knives I am interested in and why I would like to know. Thanks.

edbeau,
Okay, thanks for that information, I was thinking late 80's is when I got it. It came from Jumbo Sports, they have been out of business a very long time.

Would it be this one? It's from the 1989 catalog and is the only Damascus 110 I found that year. It has nickle silver bolsters and stag handles.

The dealer price was $68.75 so you can figure double that retail. I'd keep that one as new as possible.

Hello Plumberdv,
The blade is similar, but my handles are much nicer looking and are reddish brown. That is probably the production run of them. So I guess it was not that rare for a production model. Thanks for the information. I have used it very little. I noticed the sheath's are very close except, mine has Buck 3 times on the snap, where that one has one.

:)Your's must be a real beauty (got some pictures??) then, because I think that's some GREAT looking stag in the picture from the catalog.

That is the best looking stag that I have ever seen on a 110. It is hardly shaved at all near the bolsters. I want that one pictured. Uh huh. Yes, I do.

How about this one? It's from the 1990 catalog, but it could very easily have a blade stamped with the 1989 date symbol.

I don't think I can post pics without being a paying member and don't have a photobucket account. Mine, may not be bone, they look more like Delrin too me.

This is the red and brown bone knives. You almost certainly have one of these. If you knife is in unused condition with the box, sheath, and paperwork in excellent condition...then your value estimate is in the ballpark IMO.

Unfortunately, I never kept the box and paperwork. I know better now, but a little too late. Luckily, I had plenty of user's and this one did not see much use and is in excellent shape.

Plumberdv,
I think I will contact Buck and see about getting that fixed. Thanks for the advice. I sent you a pic of the ole gal if you want to post it. My picture taking is hideous, but it's a great looking knife.

Hey Plumberdv,
I dug out the old broken knife, it's a Buck 112 and if I remember right, it's older than the 110V Damascus, but like I said the memory aint that great no more. I will shoot you a pic of it.
