Looks like Buck did a run of 110s with 5160 Carbon Steel. Looks like about 200 were made. I will stick with my 420HC but thought some of you might be interested. I don't have much more info than this.

Very cool. I like my 110's with S30V, but a 5160 would be great to try!

OK, so I went looking for a 5160 Buck 110 and I ended up ordering a custom 110 with S30V and Elk antler scales. I blame you.

Yep Bucktool,

I saw those while out fishing, one had Oak scales and the other had the gray Charcoal wood scales! I'm not a fan of 5160 as I don't like the way carbon steel discolors (rust). I love the boss S30V better than any other steel and I don't have any problems keeping it hair popping sharp. So I'm happy with the current selection.

Yes jb that is where I saw them also. At first I was wondering if maybe they were counterfeit but they look legit.
rotte you can't go wrong with that 110 combo.

Some knife guys love that patina look and the way a non-stainless blade sharpens. Perhaps they will sell. D2 is non-stainless enough for me. DM

That's pretty cool! I didn't know any actually existed. I've been dabbling in the knife making arena for a little while and I've been thinking about making a 110 replacement blade from 1095 or L6. I've got a donor knife sitting in a drawer.

I'll have one if I can find one.the d2 is a great steel on my 118 ,but as DM stated it requires a bit more attention or it will develope rust spots quickly.here in Atlantic Canada more so.thats why I love the coated s30v as ouch,it never rusts no matter what.lol

They are legit! I called Buck and was told they were made for "Copper & Clad". Both Charcoal and Oak handles.
I've been looking forwad to a carbon lockback since the Old Timers were no longer made. Got to get one.
