Buck 110 with Obsidian scales

I have been doing a few Buck 110's in the past few days and had several turn out to be pretty darn good. This is the first knife I have done in obsidian as I just never had found any that "grabbed" me until I found this chunk of Mahogany Obsidian.

I thought you might like to see the results.

Nice. And rather apropos, actually. Obsidian was used in some of man's earliest knives from the stone age, and still nothing is sharper. So you have a marriage of ancient and modern.

Holy hell that's one good looking 110! Fantastic work, man! Love how the colors seem to swirl in the obsidian, almost as if alive! Stellar!
 
In hand it looks even better as there is a "sheen" to the way light plays on tha layers of color. There is actual clear obsidian between the black and the near orange mahogany in places. Like I noted at the start - this was the first chunk of obsidian I have found that really "grabbed" me...
