I have a Buck 110 that is kind of loose in the blade, and thought I could try to modify it some since it is not new. What I would like to add finger grooves ( deep ones like on a 560). any suggestion on how to attempt this? Thanks John

John - If you hold a 560/186 up to a 110FG, you'll see that the FG tips extend beyond where the 110 frame is... :( So you can't really get a 560 profile on a 110 frame...

Having said that, you can do a good job of FG'ing the 110. I used a 1 3/8" end mill on a 110 which had been butchered just to see how it looked. Well, it looked like crap, but that was the fault of the PO, who had used a bastard file to try the FG conversion. It ended up way too skinny.

Using the end mill and plunge milling an OEM 110 frame, you can duplicate Buck's FG's. ;)

...Do ya really :p think he woulda done that Trax??...LMAO...:p

LOL...actually, I "was" going to advise JohnWayneSand-wich (or whatever comes after "sand") to send the loose one in for repair and buy a new 110FG, or to ask Trax for pics!!!
Ha ha...you guys know me too well
Sirusly, Trax does awesome stuff...but that FG was off the hook.

I will take your advise and send in my loose 110, and buy a FG Buck (when I find one around here. They are rare in my area). BTW SANDW means smith and wesson (or that what wanted it to mean, I like sandwich better LOL ). Thanks for the advise. John

What would be a good John Wayne sandwich??? How about a 1/2" thick piece of beefsteak, rare of course, on two 1" thick pieces of homemade white bread, with lots of butter, and just a smidgeon of garlic salt??? :p :D ;)

Aaaahhh!! Cowboy movies, Directv hooked me up 24/7 with the western channel, what were we discussing?

Two best cowboy movies (to my mind): "The Outlaw Josey Wales", and "The Long Riders"...there were/are other good'uns, but those were the most reasonable, I think...maybe "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as well... :D

I agree, I prefer the Clint eastwood movies as well...
Pale rider...:D

C'mon guys, how do you top someone that starred in cowboy movies almost 50 years:confused: , you don't:D John Wayne and Buck Knives...these are American icons:cool:

karen is a john fan. i like several of his movies, got used to them as she watches all the time...
waine and hepburn has to be right up there!

You cannot forget the few westerns that Tom Selleck played in, they were some of the best ever. I really like "The Shadow Riders" from Tom. And, of course, the Quigly movie, that is a classic.
Also, Willie Nelson did a few westerns, I have one called "Outlaw Justice" that starred Willie with a bit part by Waylon Jennings as well. Not to mention Travis Tritt who got himself on screen with Willie. Good stuff!

"When I get to likin' someone, they ain't around long."

"I notice when you get to DISlikin' someone, they ain't around long neither!"

One of my favorite bits of dialogue ever :) 25 cyber-dollars to the first person who identifies the movie and characters.
