I notice my Buck 110 has an "X" after 110 on the blade. Anybody know what this means? My BUCK 112 has a "C". Is this a date code. I'm new at these things. Before joining this site I never looked at my knives blades, I either had a carbon blade or Stanless steel blade. After joining this site I'm looking at blades, stamps SV30, 154c 1095s...the works. This site has been very educational.

Hey otis, if you look at the top at the "sticky threads" you'll see Buck date codes...all you ask and more are right there. also check out the 110 and 112 data sheet threads for LOTS of info :)

Otis, Welcome. Your 1990, blade on the 110 is of 425M steel and your 1995 blade on the 112 has 420HC steel. Buck adopted the later steel in 92. Hope this helps. DM
