I have a couple of the Buck 112 25th Anniversary knives and both have NS bolsters. Today at the flea market I picked up one with brass bolsters and finger grooves. The guy wanted 20 bucks for it and the blade looked new. I was wondering if this knife is original or someone installed the blade in it.

howdy decaff here,,
now i is a 110 kind of man
and dont normaly mess with girly knives..
but most thoes ya gots came in Nickel
but some few did come in brass
ya dont see them often but the do show up
even less often as FG..
it is gooder in my book
check the date mark for year made
some were made as late as 98!

same thing in the 110 ...most in nickel but of late some showing up in brass
dont know why but dats de way it is,,,
now i is a not calling a 112 a '' sissy' knife
i is a saying it's a perfict fit as a girls knife!
most girls i know whom are LEO's EMT's rescue team fire fighter ect
have bought the 112 for a belt knife..
so to me itis a girly knife
not that a lot of guys dont carry 112's
why me own brother carries one...
but my daughter edc's my ( cuse me hers that she said daddy i want this prity one)
classic western engraved 111
so not all girls like the 112
jest most..
good find btw

Dave's on a roll! :D I wonder what his brother, who collects the 112, would say if he knew you were calling his knife of choice girlie?

Well I checked everywhere and could not find any reference to that knife being made as a finger grooved brass bolstered model. The only explanation I can think of would be that some where made at Buck, but no assigned a unique model number. Its not likely that someone got that blade as a replacement through warranty.
It looks like your knife has the ebony inlays, indicating that it was at least made during the time when the NK version was in the line.
Sorry I could not really help on that one.

.

well he jest smiles and says dont let me catch ya wit one..
so when i get one i offer it to him and if he dont take it
off to ebay it goes..
well some times i save it tell he might have the cash;)
or i need a big favor!!!:o
hay Joe gots any 110's hee hee hee..
email picts and jest who is the Buck Duck?

That looks like $20 very well spent to me!!
Nice snag. I could not have got my money out fast enough.
But then I like girlie knives apparently.

hay i never said i did not like them!
fact is i do...
they jest dont fit my ham size hands
that and 90% of all girls that have
a buck on the belt have a 112 is all the reason
i say they are the girls choice of bucks
now try this
hand a girl a 110 and a 112 and ask them to handle both
and ask which they like better or would buy..
or we got any girls out there that use bucks?

Not me personally, but I saw a rather fetching young lass eyeing the knife counter at the Bass Pro Shop in Orlando earlier today. I didn't see what she walked out with, but it was definitely a bag from the knife counter :D

Well, it's for sure rare/odd...Now that that I know one exists I'll have to put one like it in my rare/odd collection! Great price/find!

Christmas before last I was walking by the BP knife counter 2 days before Santa day. The BP guy was trying to sell two 20's age "women" a fancy Timeberlake non-Buck knife. Standing to the side I could tell the salesman was tired, uninterested at the moment in what they needed and was pushing the high dollar knife. I stepped up and said excuse me ladies are you buying a knife for a father or boyfriend. It was their father. I replied, ' Does he hunt and fish ?' there answer was yes he does. I said "Is an excutive or worker. They said he drives a truck. I turned looked the BP guy in the eye and said, "Listen friend, sell these girls that BP BUCK 110 with the special blade and quit trying to sell them a fancy show knife. I turned to them and said "Ladies, your dad will open this on Christmas morning and be tickled pink his two girls gave such a quality and useful gift. He will take it to work and everyone will be impressed" They said SOLD......the BP guy squinted at me but held his tongue and he began to ring up the sale. I turned feeling like the good Christmas grinch and happily left the store, buying nothing.........

I would have jumped on that 112 myself. Good Buy.

Don't count the girls out. I know one that just bought a sirus with the flaming eagle, to carry in her outdoor jeans....she likes eagles also.

300Bucks

300,Yes sir, "don't count the girls out".Both mine carry carry Bucks,a 112 FG and a 501 in English script.They don't leave home without it.DM

Great snag on the 25th Anniversary knife, I'd have grabbed it up in a second.
My wife carries a Tac Lite in her purse, she took it out one day at some event it got some comments, she told them she was a Girl Scout leader.

It was a Buck 105...The "Lorena Bobbitt" special...

I understand she hung around and followed you to your home...Now, she knows where you live... :D

I didn't realize it might be a rare one. I was ready to put it in my EDC pile. The bolsters need a good cleaning and the blade looks like a new one. I'm glad I decided to ask about it. Thanks for the input.

I don't have any sheaths like that one either, in my big sheath box...Brown leather with gold lamè lettering/graphics...
