Hello, I just found these forums today and I'm really having fun looking through all the threads. I love reading about knives
So I have a question. I picked up this buck collector's tin at a yard sale last year for $5, and I was wondering if somebody could tell me what it's worth.
I can't post a picture right now because my camera isn't being very cooperative but I'll try to describe it as best as I can.
On the lid it has a picture of two hands, one holding a knife in place on an anvil, the other hitting it with a hammer. There's a banner that goes across the anvil that says "1902 - 2002". Under that it says "100 years of quality" and then "Buck Knives" underneath that.
Inside it has a card with a sticker on it that says the blade is very sharp.
The card says:
"Commitment. Dedication. Innovation.
Since 2002, four generations of the Buck family
have devoted themselves to making the best
possible knives. As Buck celebrates its
100th Anniversary, they are proud to present
this limited production collectible set."
The knife itself is just a regular Buck 112 with a small metal circle in the handle that says "100 years. Buck knives. 1902 - 2002". It's never been used, the blade is still razor sharp.
I thought about keeping it but I think I'll just sell it and buy an ordinary one for an EDC. No point using this one and ruining a good collector's item.
