Did anyone else order the 2011 Buck 112 Clubknife in Ironwood/buffalo horn?
Would be interested to see pictures. Tried searching the forum but have not found any.
I received mine and am really happy with it. Will post pictures of mine within a couple of hours..

Yes the red paperstone is a nice one too and there are quite a few pics to be found on the forum of that one. However I have not seen any pictures of the 2011 Buck 112 member knife in desert ironwood/buffalo horn with finger grooves.

Here's some pic's of mine, has some nice knotty ironwood! Can anyone spot the custom modification Buck did for me? :) Curious to see any other similar ones to see how the desertwood looks on those..

That's a real nice looking 112, I had no idea that it could be ordered without the gold etch.

It could not be ordered without the gold etching, but thanks to Joe Houser and John Foresman my request to order one without the gold etching was honored. I am not really into etched blades. (Actually the etching was buffed out, instead of re-installing a non-etched blade) My preference was to have it with the s30v drop point blade similar to the paperstone, but this was not possible due to a shortage in s30v drop point blades.

Those are especially knice lookin nives and I am sorry I didnt have the budget to get it and its 110 counterpart last year. Enjoy it. Thanks for the pics.

(a non S30V blade) Thats what I thought they did as the S30V blades are sought after and they would have had to take a knife apart. Yet, I thought, what a waste of good gold etching... Plus, they want to sell knives. As long as you got what you want. DM

The collectors value to re-sell probably declined by removing the etching, but hey I'm European and don't really like those pimped up blades with gold etching. I like beauty in simplicity! The etching only distract from the beauty of the wooden/horn handle...

The proportions of a drop point blade on a 110 look correct to me. They look correct on a 112 as well and the Duke is very close. Buck has offered that configuration several times. Its in the eye of the beholder. DM

The Duke is close but (mine) lacks the belly that the club knife has. Or that my 482 has.

When did buck offer a drop point ranger for retail?

The 112 has been offered a couple of times with a drop point blade for Club members. Some will show up on the bay. I've seen 500's with blade shapes like you mention as well. A little variation in the belly area changes the look a lot. DM

I like the droppoint on the 112. However on the 110 the proportions somehow don't seem right..

Exactly.

The 110 drop points look front-heavy and just all wrong.

But some like that look.

Go figure.......it's all about what people like, but the drop point 110 sure wouldn't make it as a mass market offering.

I think the drop point 112 would be popular, though.

Y'know, I hafta disagree with this.

I recently got my first old-production droppoint 426 BuckLite.

I have it sitting right beside my 110 EcoLite.

I have carried it for a week, and I have absolutely no complaints about the proportions. I really do have to get the camera out this week and do some comparative shots. The droppoint blade sized to fit the 110 is an elegant profile of which I would love to see more.

I think the droppoint profile works really well for either the 112 or the 110.

I now have a goal to obtain at least one of each, even if I have to commission it from someone like sitflyer.
