I'm a rookie so don't laugh too hard.
I dried the wood out for 5 months
I always wanted to do a knife with Hemlock scales and last hunting season I found a nice tree that provided me with a small branch. I don't condone cutting green trees but lets say I pruned this one slightly.

My miniature sawmill. (Yes Dad and Grandpa I used a push stick)

I hate to dismantle a fine Buck Knife but it didn't mind too much

The scale fit didn't come out quite as nice as I wanted but I think the wood shrunk a bit

I used a dark oil cause I wanted a nice contrast of light and dark

Looks great Doug
I do like the looks of those 442 blades in the 112 frame :)

First time?
I think it looks great Doug...and yes, the drop point looks right at home in the 112 frame

Thanks Sunandsteel, Maybe another coat of oil but thats it. Hemlock is amazing for a softwood, Its dense and not very porous.

Yo Mamma, thanks man

Sitflyer, couldn't have done it without you. I read all your previous posts about customizing scales and you answered a few questions for me. That was a couple years ago!

Russde, Thank you. First time with the right knowledge! You guys rock, I wont post the first knife I mangled haha

Doug, You did a good job. Those 442 blades give a good appeal to a 112. What was the date of the original 112's frame? DM

I always belt carry, not a fan of wearing holes in my pockets:p

Edbeau, thank you very much :)

David, Thank you sir. That would be a year X on the date chart. What a sorry looking blade eh? Not my doing..

I remember that, glad to see you took the plunge. It's a lot of fun and very satisfying, yes?!

looks great.

Buck should offer that knife in regular production (only a tick thinner).
