Saw some pictures of the new Buck 112 EcoLites with the Red Paperstone scales. Always liked the 112 & I liked how these looked. Anyone have one? What do you think?

Ehh, they remind me too much of a Bucklite for me to like them. There are others concerned with weight (and for other reasons) that love them. It's a matter of taste.

One of the few places me and the Plum would disagree. I love the ecolite although the 112 is too small for me and I prefer the 110 ecolite. I have both and they are very solid knives. Alot lighter than the standard models, although personllay I dont mind the weight a big heavy folder in my pocket. I always know its there. Get one:thumbup: or two:)

They are well made users for sure. They lack the looks and heft of the classics but are much easier to carry in your pocket.

One disagreement out of 100 ain't bad though!:)

If I were to start using and carrying it, I might change my mind like I did with the Vantage's. I did actually buy one (a 110) just to see what the hoopla was about, so maybe I should dig it out and carry it some.

And Fritz, check your mailbox today real close.

Maybe 1 in 1000 Dave
I sure will:D

You can mount a pocket clip on your 112 if you buy a 2-56 Helicoil kit, some 2-56 screws, and a pocket clip. The kit is fairly expensive, but you can do other knives.

Carried mine today actually, the 112 Ecolite comes pretty close to the perfect general EDC pocket knife.

This most likely will pull out of the paperstone if caught on something. I wouldn't reccomend it. If you used a threaded insert on the backside of the handle, it would be much better.

any of you that have added pocket clips to your 110's or 112's would you mind throwing up some pictures, can be ecolite or traditional. i'm considering getting one and doing that to it.

Got my 112 EcoLite today & have some concerns/questions.

If you are looking down on the backspacer, blade pointing away from you, there is a slight gap between backspacer & the liner on the right.

the exposed pivot on the left side is not completely flush & has a bit of a sharp edge.

Is this anything to worry on?

Any effects other than cosmetic?

Outside of those 2 small issues the knife is a great deal for the money.

always sorry to hear someone not satisfied with the product. I do not see a knife integrity issue with either of what you described, however the sharp corner on the rocker rivet can be irritating to carry. When working with softer handle materials it is always a balance to roll the rivets down far enough without leaving tool marks on the material beneath. It sounds like we stopped too soon on yours.

As always you can send it in to us and we will fix it. Sorry for the trouble.

Mr. Buck, thank you for the response.

The blade is well centered, and lock-up is tight with no play. I've had knives that cost a lot more that I could not say the same about. Might try some fine grit sandpaper on the pivot. Any suggestions for ways to deburr it would be appreciated. Your assurance on the matters settles it for me.
