I wrote to Buck and they say it is fine. And it is… functionally. But I think this would make most companies knives factory seconds. I see it on two of my 112’s- both in 440. Neither of my 112’s in s30. I got curious and looked for images…. Found one on eBay with the same grind that cuts into the ricasso. They function fine, it just seems sloppy. But the grids are all uneven too so….
I like Buck. Obviously I buy them. But I have boughtbseconds from companies that were less flawed. Anybody else seen this? And on any bucks other than 112 drop points?

I have ordered 3 custom 110/112 last year in attempt to land one with a okay grind. None of the grinds is acceptable. Nothing is close to even on both sides, and 2 of them are ground shorter. I sent one back, they simply reground it and sent one back with even shorter blade. Imagine a 112 with a shorter than normal blade. Functionally ok I guess. So is a 10 dollar knife.

If it were a user I guess I wouldn't worry about it.
If it were part of a collection, it would bother me.

Either way that knife should have been a blem.
