I had the urge to try this little project today. I love a hawkbill, and a buck knife, so why not a buck hawkbill? You've got 24 hrs to guess how I did it, and no you don't win my knife :D

Well MM,

Looks like you took the blade form an 811 Guildmaster 1/pro-1000 contractor and dropped into a 112 frame. Nice work MM.....Ok a little more information.....811 Guildmaster 1 was made from 1988 - 1990 and has 425 steel about 5,500 were made. 811 Pro-1000 Contractor was made from 1989 - 1995 and also has 425 steel about 26,000 of these were made. The tang stamp on MM's project is the date code for 1988...so what 811 did this blade come from?????

Looking at the ricasso area it looks like you could of just ground it down enough to make the hawkbill shape out of a 112 blade. Regardless of your methods I like the result. Interesting combination, a 1112 handle and hawbill blade.

WEll Defac Dave and JB were trhe closest. The blade was a buck 811 workman I found at a flea market yesterday. It took alot of fitting, both tang and blade to get it to lay right in the 112 frame. I'll be looking for more of these to put the blades into 112 frames, so if you run accross one keep me in mind.
