Just got back from Arizona. We spent a night at The View Hotel, which is the only hotel in Monument Valley. Here is an early morning photo from the balcony of our room. This is the only knife I took on our 2 1/2 week trip and the only knife I needed.

Beautiful picture. I made the trip also one year and it's a fantastic place. I was hoping I was going to get lucky and find an old arrowhead laying in the dirt. No luck.:D

Maybe you can aquire a Yellowhorse while your in the neighborhood.

Great pic, I think I see John Wayne in the background.

Beautiful Country out in the Western States and I wish that I still had the Pic's that I have taken through the years.!
Put them away in a safe place as it is always good to look back on what you did years ago.!**

Thanks for the comments everyone. Throughout the trip, we went to many Indian shops. Can't tell you how my "Yellowhorse" knives I saw, but very few were Bucks. Garland's Indian Jewelry in Sedona was about the only place that had Buck. The rest were beautiful inlaid handles on inexpensive import knives.

Glad you came out to AZ, I'm in Phoenix but not to far from where you were.

With our knife laws here, you could have brought anything you wanted, but that you picked a solo Buck 112 says a lot about how much you like it.

Actually, I read your knife laws before I came out and they have got to be the most lenient in the entire country. Still, I chose my 112 because of its compact size and it can handle everything that I need to cut. It accompanied me on many hikes, an extended horseback ride and a day of off-roading in a rented Tomcar. This old Ranger and I have been on many adventures since 1973 and I'll be the first to admit that his joint is better that most of mine. :D

I'm looking at a custom 112 from Buck, maybe I'll pull the trigger sooner than later.

Is it possible to buy a custom 112? I went on the Buck website and thought you could only buy a 110 or 500 series custom. If they have 112 customs, I'm going on there right now and ordering.

Will be out in AZ for two weeks beginning of August. Won't be taking any long trips, but going to wildlife zoo north of Phoenix with my brothers family.
He doesn't own any Bucks or traditionals, but I'll grab his Benchmade Barrage while I'm out there.
