Hi,
I read not long ago that at one time Buck was so mixed up they made a anniversary knife in the wrong year , I think it was a 112 has anyone else read anything about that, I would like to know the knife and the year.
Thanks

This is a topic that is an interesting bit of Buck history. Yes, they did get the year wrong for the 25th anniversary of the 112.
Here is a copy of an old post made on the subject by Joe Houser on 10-25-2005.

Tim,
The 25th anniversary 112 is one of my favorite special projects for one simple reason. It is all wrong!
You look at the engraving on the 25th anniversary 110 and they got the dates right, 1963 to 1988. Then, someone thought we should do the same for the 112 since it is the younger brother to the 110 and would make a nice set. That makes sense right? The only problem is the 112 did not come out until 1972!
So there is the 112, put out by Buck, stating that we were celebrating its 25th anniversary when it actually had only been out for 16 years at that point. Someone in sales got a little over zealouse and now we have a very cool collectible 112 to look for. :D
I hope you can find one for your collection.
