I recently got a Buck ranger in a trade and I REALLY like it. The handle fits me perfectly and I was able, very easily, go get a great edge on it. I did some test cuts on sisal rope and was pretty impressed with the edge holding.

Sure, it's not S30V, but it works for my purposes. And the ergonomics are great.

The 112 is one of my favs. It does everything I need a knife to do. Be carefull next thing you know, you will have eight 112's.

I agree!!!
So far, I love the Prince and Ranger. Great knives and they hold a great edge.

Ahhh... a Renaissance Man!
You must acquire white scale versions, either in bone or horn.

where would one acquire one of these bone or horn handled 112's??????

Thanks,

bdws1975, look at the Buck web-site and I think they have a heading for custom shop or create custom, there you will find different steel choices and different handle materials to chose from and pricing to coincide with each choice you make.

Currently the only models available for customization on the Buck web site are the 110 Folding Hunter and the 193 Alpha Hunter.
There have been some special runs over the years with the 112, and it was once available in stag so if a person were diligent and kept looking, they might find one.

looking for a buck knife is like opening a box of de-lux chock-o-lots
ya dont knows what yo will find but it's sure ta be a goody!

The 112 makes for an excellent knife for a woman. It can be carried by her while her man carries the 110. The 112 is the finest "girl" knife to be made, much better than pink Delicas and pink mini griptilians.

Hi bdws1975,

Congratulations on your new 112. It's a fantastic knife and will serve you well. Now as for your question above. Buck has put out several special order 112's for various customers over the years and has put out some limited editions like you are asking about. You can get them off ebay every now and then...currently there are a lot of last years 112LE; this is a stag handled 112. You can also get a stag 112 from SMKW (Smokey Mountain Knife Works).

Here is a photo of a stag 112 from SMKW (bottom knife)

click on the pic and it will get bigger

A 112 was the first lockback that I ever carried. Started with'em back in the 70s. Great knives.

I've had several over the years & still have a 112 and a 110 in the "family". I always carried the 112, though. It was big enough to do anything I wanted and light enough to go into a coat pocket when the belt pouch wasn't wanted.
