Hi,
Does anyone know when Buck started stamping 112 in the BOTTOM of the 112 sheath.
Thanks George God bless

That should have occurred early on. At least by the time of the shedua models. Still, the 112 followed a different time line than the 110. Also, the model 500 sheath fit the 112 and I've found some with that sheath. DM

I own two 112 first version, first variation (two liner, brass spring holder). both with - I think - original sheath. One of them has the stamp on top, the other one below the belt loop. If that is correct, the change to the lower stamp took place in 1972.

Haebbie, I think that's probably right for the moving of that stamp, from top to bottom. I have both those knives but 1st & 2nd, only one sheath and it is stamped on the bottom. So, I was not totally sure. DM

Hi,
I asked because I have them stamped on the bottom ,the top and stamped with 112 and 500 on the same sheath, I've never bought a 112 with more than 2 inlay rivets except 1 with 3 small inlay rivets and a 4 inlay rivet 112,The sheath that came with the 4 inlay rivets is stamped on the bottom I was going to see if could match them up, now I think it could be any year will go with any sheath, because I have, 3 1's no 2's, 3 3's, 4 4's , 2 5's thats the 2 inlay rivet ebony, and I have a 4 rivet I almost forgot about. I just ran them down like that because it's easy, most of sheaths came with the 112 on the bottom. I know a 1,1 came with a sheath that was suppose to be correct and it's stamped on the bottom, Buck may have made all three in 1972, I don't think there is a answer
George God bless
