Hey BF,

I hoped some of the more knowledgeable folks here might be able to help me nail down a date range on this knife.

I have a Buck 112 Ranger, no dots, small u.s.a, three pin, with wood covers and brass frame/bolsters.

Best I reckon is that it’s a 1974-1980, but even then I’m not sure.

Anyhow, if anyone knows Hoff, tell him I have his knife ;)

Nice knife Ryan.

By the way,the inlay/scale pins or rivets are the only ones which are counted when referring to a Buck 110/112.Yours is a two pin/rivet model. The large stainless steel protrusion at the top of the scales is a rivet that holds the locking mechanism which is euphemistically referred to as a "rocker".

Most people on the "bay" always and mistakenly reference the rocker rivet as a inlay/scale pin.

If you notice in the reference material provided by redcanoe it states that there are "two brass inlay/scale rivets/pins and a stainless rocker rivet".

Thanks for sharing.
