Earlier this month I decided to take Joe up on his offer to reblade old 112s with BG-42 blades. I have a couple of White Bone handled 112Xs so I sent one to Joe for a BG-42 blade along with a 532+ for refurbishing and Edge 2000 treatment.

The big brown truck stopped by about noon today and delivered my bright, shiny new/old Bucks just less than two weeks after I sent them to Joe. I am really pleased with the results. The $35.00 charge for the BG-42 blade was the best bargain that I have experienced in a long time and the refurbished 532+ is just like new. The rebladed 112 is in a class by itself - just superb. I will send my other 112 to them for the same treatment shortly.

If you have a 112 that you like and have not yet availed yourself of Joe's reblade offer I heartily recommend that you do so before the recent run of BG-42 blades for the 112 is exhausted.

Thanks Joe and Buck Knives!

Wray,
Thank you for the kind endorsement! I am glad you are happy with the work done.
I do need to let folks know that Efrin, the man who actually does the work here at Buck, will be out for two weeks. From 6/28 through 7/12, I wont be able to do these retrofits.
Take care,

add my thanks also!! Buster Brown just brought mine today. Looks good and I'm looking forward to putting them to use.

I gave my original 112 to my son, and needed to buy a new one to send in ofr the blade. Just sent them off, and now no one can work on them for two weeks. Just my luck!

Oh well, I have other knives to play with:D

I recieved my 112 reblades today. All three are very well done.
I'm going to put a pocket clip on one of them. Has anyone here
installed a clip on one of these ? The clip and a one-armed bandit
will make this one of my favorites. Thanks to Joe Houser for a
job well done.

Mine arrived Thursday in the big brown truck.

Heck of a job. They are beautiful. Mine look like they have a convex edge. Anyone else notice this, or am I just incredibly lucky?

Thanks a million, Joe.

Mike

Mike,

Good eye. I just checked the edge on mine and I think that you are correct. I would have thought that it would have the Edge 2000 treatment. I'm not complaining, though; in a way it is kind of a nice touch. Perhaps Joe can enlighten us.

Mine is back too. I tried to buy another on ebay to get the upgrade. I couldn't help but notice that 112's with really beat up looking blades were going for fairly high prices. Coincidence?
Thanks again Joe and Efrin.

I didn't have a 112 to be rebladed, so I asked Joe if he would sell me one with the BG-42 blade already installed. $63 and 2 weeks later, the BTOJ shows up and I eagerly tear into the box. I have to say, this is one of my fave knives. Much more user friendly than the 110. Geez, it's even pocketable! Great walk and talk, solid lock, no wobble, really nice wood scales, beautifully polished brass bolsters, and Buck's incredible BG-42 blade! What more could you want? This is my first 112 ever and the handle is nice and chunky and fits my hand perfectly. Plus, the little lip at the blade junction makes for a safer grip than the 110. This think will be one of my heavy duty work knives.
Can't wait till Buck offers custom versions of them.
Thanks Joe for a great product and quick response time on this special order.
No wonder Buck has such a loyal following!
Lenny:D

Lenny that seems like a good idea.Since I also don't have a 112 I'll send joe an e-mail and see if he can scare me up one with BG-42 steel that way I'll get it a lot quicker. Then I'll have to get one of Lifterforhims sheaths for it. being a wheelchair user a horizontial sheath is my best option.

I will have to ask Efrin when he gets back about the convex edge. I would guess that it is the E2K and he went one step furhter and buffed it some. He likes doing them that way.

Joe,

Please maintain the convex grind, my favorite and very easy to maintain with leather strop.

I am sending off two Buck 112 knives for the blade replacement.
