Looking for some feedback / advice.

Been thinking lately about getting the Buck 112 Ranger pocket knife for an EDC - for xmas :) ... just around the corner don't you know!

Have heard a lot of good stuff about the "original" Buck 110, so was hoping that someone would be able to clue me in on the smaller version. I'm not really into large pocket knives ... as I seem to prefer the 3" blade variety (like my mini grips or spyderco Calypso Jr).

Also, hows the included sheath - good? .. sturdy; soft; unobtrusive; horizontal on belt? etc)

Any feedback and/or views would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe

The 112 is a great folder in my opinion. I have the finger grooved model and love it. Solid, compact feels good in the hand and has excellent blade control. The sheath is top notch. Give one a try I bet you will like it.

I like the 112 as much as the 110. The sheath is a slightly smaller version of the one for the 110 & works fine. Or have one made by Lifter or you could also carry the 112 in your pocket. Here's a pix of some 112's compared to a 110 for size comparison.

Wow, that last 112 is very special!!!
Is that a Yellowhorse.....or maybe a Ghostown?

I tried the passaround 112 a long time ago, it was a reasonable knife, but was to thick and heavy for me.

Nice ones, Clydtz! You have the best Buck collection!

The 112 is a really nice, versitile knife! Fits my hand just right, built well, looks good, holds an edge pretty well. It is fairly heavy, but I don't mind heavy knives. Makes a real nice work knife, and has been a good hiking companion over the years, too!

You're correct, El Lobo... it's a Ghostown.
I don't think I have the best Buck collection. It's just that I seem to be addicted to 'em! :D

It is heavy and best carried in the supplied belt sheath but overall, one o fthe best values in the knife world, as is the 110!

The Buck 112 Ranger is a classic. Like Buck's venerable 110, the 112 is every thing a knife should be. Lockup is solid, blade steel gets the job done and holds an edge, and the total package feels so good in the hand. :)

I would highly recommend it. It's a very sturdy lockback with a well made sheath from a wonderful company. You can't go wrong with a Buck. :D

the classic bucks are nice. i like the 112 better than the 110.
it's pretty heavy for its size, so i don't carry mine that often, but it's sturdy as hell and feels great in my hand.
peace.
