So a buddy of mine has been talking to one of his dads friend about getting a knife with a custom sheath that the friend bought from his buddy's garage sale for 10 bucks, just to help the guy out he didn't need a knife. So my buddy said "I'll give you 10 bucks for it" and he accepted. We didn't know what kind of knife it was going to be we thought it was going to be either a 110 or a knockoff of the 110, so he texts me tonight saying it actually was a 112  which is awesome for him getting a 112 for 10 bucks but I want one now haha. But he said its in good condition but it has alot of tarnish and the blade is dull. He said there is 2 dots on the tang where its .112. so can somone help me out with what year this may be! Thanks alot!!!

Zach,

2 dots were made from 74-80 with numerous variants. If you check the "stickys" at the top of the main buck page right above your thread, you will see "revised 110/112 data sheets" which gives the history from '67 to '80.
Other info such as '86-present date codes are available if another person would post it- I can never find it.

Fritz

Ps post some pics if you can.

Two dot 'version' has 4 'variations.
Var. 1 ebony scale, 2 brass rivets, no nail nic
Var. 2 4 brass rivets on scale
Var. 3 3 brass rivets on scale
Var. 4 3 larger sized brass rivets on scale.

112 only a sideline for me.....300Bucks

Apparently, Joe has revised that data sheet for the 110 and information on the 112 is no longer even there.

yes he knows of what i said ...he jest grins and ask if i got any more..
told him that when i sold him most the 112's i had
i jest got a knife that i was told was a small 110 with jest buck usa ...?
seems it is a two liner inverted brass spacer with micarta scales 112!
but the kicker is these dont look Jet Black as every one i have see before
these have a dark red tint to them!!!
i asked leroy on it and he said yes there were "some like that" not many..
would have to clean it and buff it to know for sure as it is used..

300 yes all this is only a sideline for someone who can make deer burgers like yours. Also, in those varations #4 has radiused edges but not in the thumb depression. I think 1974- early 1980 is good on that. Not to reopen that can of worms.
Tin Sue, Joe and I talked about that some time ago. However, the hand outs at the 20yr. Reunion are good on this model. If you can get copies of them.DM

I never know quite how to take you,so I'll just answer.
Yes, I was there and stood for some time in front of your display to comment w/ you about some of your models.Ask me the location as to where your display was set up. I also know you did not get yours set up the first day.DM:)

I kinda wondered about that myself Tin. I trashed my last computer that I had saved it and the other 2 dating info sheets that i was aware had been posted. I can't remember what specific 112 info was on it but thought It had info all the way up to 86(but maybe that was the other sheet with a similar layout) Cant tell cause theyre both in computer heaven(or wherever computers go-not sure its heaven-had more than one occasion to curse them:p)
