Hey all - I recently scored a new (old stock) buck 118. It was in the display case at hardware store. At first they said they could not sell it since it didn't have a box or a sheath - but I said I would take it anyhow. They marked it down to $30 due to the missing sheath/box. Looks like a 2010 model and has just been sitting in a case for 11 years. Now to find a sheath. Would the 105 or 102 be a good fit? Having a hard time finding a 118 specific sheath......

The 105 will fit. 102 is too small. 117 will be good too.

good score! I've been looking in all the display cases myself. no luck so far.

probably the 118 got the boot because it was pretty similar to but less popular than the 105. I personally prefer the 118 for deer hunting. it is one of my top three deer dressing knives. For me anyways, it's "just right" not too big, not too small.

I don’t think the Buck 118 is discontinued. It may not be a regular production knife (like the Buck 119) but it is regularly available. Sheaths are available on all the popular on-line auction and sales sites. Welcome to the Buck 118 Club - the perfect deer knife! OH
