hooray for sandblasting, more grippy less slippy. looks better in person than the photo shows i think. its kind of leathery looking.

and it looks better overall after a trip through the grinder, to me at least. I never did like the pommel shape or the guard on the spine side.
 
Nice mod. Good knife; I used one to field dress a moose,single-handed (fortunately I had a comealong for the heavy lifting). Had to touch it up once after taking the hide off. I've seen them washing around in the bilge of salt water fishing boats, left out over the winter, with no damage except a few rust spots.
 
Wow! The sandblasting not only roughed up the handle, it completely took off the top of the guard and much of the pommel! What the heck kinda blasting medium were you using?

Just kidding. Looks like a nice mod.
 
"Knice" mod. Looks awfully familiar......



I used a bead blaster for mine. It's got a much better grip
