Buck 119 handle too small?

I don't feel like I have particularly huge hands - when buying gloves I sometimes buy large and sometimes buy medium - but for the life of me my hand feels cramped on a buck 119 special. It's like I need another 1/2" of length.

I don't see any other references online to folks having an issue with the handle size, and the 119 is a huge seller for buck. Again, I don't feel like I have huge hands... so what gives? Is it a common problem, or is this designed to be used a different way or something? I like the look of the knife, but the handle feels like a deal breaker for me.

I have XXL hands. I don't think the Buck 119 has any extra handle for me personally. Try the Buck Vanguard. It's a better handle for me.

I’ve read that 119s used to have more rounded handle, but over the years it became more squared off. Cost savings I’m sure.

The 124 handle is much better, just a little bit larger and better material.
I much prefer the 124 handle in shape and size. Actually , I like the 124 better all around over the 119. I recently bought a 119 and it felt light and cheap. So I gifted it away. But the 124 is a great knife.

They could make a lot of money doing the 124 in magnacut or 3v and I would prefer a little thicker.

Magnacut would be great. For the 124 , that would be my first choice in blade steel. I’d also be thrilled with CruWear or even CPM-154. But I don’t see Buck dabbling in those steels.
