Buck 119 Leather Sheath

I see that 119 leather sheaths are available seperately without the knife. The description says that the sheath is made in Mexico. Has this always been the case or is it a recent development? How is the quality?

Recently buck knives are coming is USA made sheaths. The sheaths made in Mexico were good quality as well. My pref would be buy custom or the USA version.

As noted above, Buck sheaths have been made in Mexico for quite a few years now and every single one I have has been perfectly fine. Recently they started making them here in the U.S. Don't know if all sheaths are or will be made here? Also I don't believe I've gotten one yet so can't comment on the quality of the U.S. made sheaths. Also don't know if Buck is making them or using a subcontractor?

Buck's large plant was in the San Diego area. Not 1 hour from Mexico. So, a deal was struck for someone in leather works from Mexico to make
the sheaths. Many were made in the U.S. too. It's just contracting for a discount product of good quality. But recently many of us are now looking hard at U.S. made goods. And companies are responding to that. They had better be good quality. DM

I have a fairly recent distressed leather 119 sheath said made in Mexico I think. The quality was just fine.

The first usa with the flag sheath I've seen came with my 110 autos. Excellent quality.

Does Buck make a left handed sheath for the 120?

My new Buck 103 has a very well made black leather sheath, and the tag does say made in Mexico.

I would prefer the sheath be made in the USA, and I would pay more for it, but the quality is very good. The Buck leather is thinner than some sheaths, but mine is very expertly made.

I buy American when I can.

It should be noted that Mexicans have a long history making leather goods.

Quality can come from anywhere, so can garbage.

There's not one listed on the website, there are a few aftermarket folks that sell some through Amazon.

Got my left hand 119 sheaths today, now if the PO could just find the knives that go in them. They seem to have gotten misplaced somewhere in MO.
