Sorry if this subject has been discussed before, I'm new to the forum.

I frequently wonder why the Buck Special, General, and other great knives were never offered in a drop point style. I prefer a drop point blade, so I'm just curious. I think they would be as big a hit as the clip point. Any thoughts?

Yes. If you're a member of the BCCI, email that suggestion to Buckcustom (do a search for his email)..

If not, email it to CJ Buck and Joe Houser. Links are at the bottom of the Forum page.

Excellent suggestions, BTW! :D

Hi Bowie Mike,
Welcome to the Forums. The 100 series are tried & true, been around for over 50 years. Buck has drop point fixed blades, like the Alphas, Omnis, Vanguards, and Diamondbacks. Maybe in the future we could see a 6 or 7 1/2 inch drop point bladed knife, but I guess the 650 Nighthawk with a modified clip is as close as it gets today.

Thanks for the replies.

Without a dought, the 100 series are great knives - I have several. The Alpha series are even better (my opinion), and I am just guessing that a lot of others also like the Alpha series. It just seems like a natural progression to offer the 100 series in a drop point, in addition to the clip point. But as you indicated, they are tried and true - thanks!

It would be nice to see a 119 length Buck in a drop. Personally, I prefer the profile of the 403 Big Sky over the FB Alpha.

All I know is not much.
What I do know is that I got my first 119 just a few months ago and I love it.

Since then I have directly influenced the purchase (or some questionable aquisition) of three more for me and two more by others.
Here's a pic from a year end gig I attended last night. It was with a group of family oriented Motorcycle Enthuiasts I see around now and then.

My Brother and another Brother's wife are doing The Bump with their new Christmas presents from their respective spouses.
I felt "inadequate" with my 105 Rosey and 110NS BG-42 :(
