"Largo, Florida - Largo Police are looking for a little girl who pulled a knife on a Wal-Mart clerk as she tried to steal two boxes of Lego toy blocks.

"Police say the 7 to 8-year-old girl hid the toys under her coat and tried to walk out the door.

"A store employee was watching and approached the child, asking her to turn over the Lego blocks.

"Police say the little girl then opened her jacket and displayed a combo carving knife with a forked point and a 10" blade . . . . "

Oh wait . . . "combo carving knife with a forked point and a 10" blade"??? . . . never mind.

"combo carving knife with a forked point and a 10" blade"???

That sounds like an interesting idea to me...I've always wondered why Americans don't sharpen one side of our spoons... (I eat practically everything with a spoon)...

A sharpened fork isn't a bad idea... :) I haven't had a good fork in a long time...

Trax, I'll send you a spork from Taco Bell. Sharpen an edge and you're set.
As for the girl...Legos...cool. If she went in for the 112 tins we'd all be branded.

I'm not sure if we can do anything about it or not but we are trying.
Californy uses that same picture?

...I tossed another email out to the Tampa's Channel 10 "Community Desk" explaining my position on their use of that knife photo...I included my address and phone number again. They never got back to me regarding the last two (2) emails I've sent about this very issue. I don't imagine they find me "important" enough to bother replying to my email or giving me a call...I'm not a fan of "arrogance"...

There is no bad press. ‘The only thing worse than being talked about in the press is not being talked about in the press.’ Monty Python paraphrasing Oscar Wilde.

I try not to watch the news too often but that image stuck in my head. If I remember right the story wasn't even knife related. Or if it was it was a kitchen knife. There are two images the news stations use- a Buck knife and a Colt 1911. If it's a crime, they'll run one of those images, even if a crime was committed without a gun or knife.

I got a reply from them, 2 in fact sent about an hour apart both saying
