buck 119 vs 105

Edge profile on the 105 is probably thinner for a starter. At least the ones I've looked at seem to be. With a smaller edge angle it will feel sharper faster as well as cut better when it's not as sharp.

cramsey, Is correct . Just sharpen longer on the 119 and you'll get there . What type stone are you using and whats the stamping on your 119 ? DM

Watch out Seniormcblade, old David likes the older steel in the 119;)

I've found that you can have several knives of the same model and the same steel and one may be consistently harder to sharpen than the rest.

Go figure.

Dave's question is pertinent also.

Knives are mysterious......like some women.

That's part of the reason we love them.

I've seen this as well .
Hawk, that was a cold, windy day try in Feb. or March 2010 . Your right I used both type grinds from 119's that day . The edge 2000 with ATS-34 blade and a 3 line, convex with 440C blade . Which I rebeveled during sharpening . That was a bear ! DM
