Did Buck ever offer the 119 Special with a green/brown handle like you see on a lot of the Frost Cutlery knives? See the middle knife in the photo below. To me it looks like a 119 but besides the scale material it looks like the hilt and pommel are a matte finish.

I have no idea if Buck ever used it on a 119. They did a 401 for HD that had that color handle.

Anything like this?

This "Earthwood" was used by Buck for limited editions. I never saw a 119 with such a handle.

Thanks for the responses. I did a google search under "Buck Earthwood" and ran across a protoype 119 with wood similar to the knife in my photo and Haebbie's 124 but it had brass fittings.

Thanks for the info JB. I've tried all sorts of search desriptions but still haven't found any 119's with that type of scale material other than the one with brass fittings. Also can anyone tell me what the
Buck beside the one I'm asking about it, I think maybe a 121?

The middle one doesn't look like a Buck 119, especially the handle. Guard and pommel doesn't
have a matte finish, it is the grey corrosion from a cheap aluminum. Next point: the guard has no layer
and the pommel is not mounted in one line with the blade. Also the proportions of the Blade aren't correct.
The blood groove seems to be at the wrong place and so on. I am pretty sure that the knife is not a 119.

I was kind of wondering that same thing. It kind of resembles a 119 and with the other Bucks in the photo I thought it might be but wasn't positive. I'll know for sure later this week when I get a chance to check it out in person.

Badhammer. Keep us informed, please.

Sorry no. When I went to the auction that weekend I never did find the knife to check it out.

I have a factory sample of the 119 with the green/brown laminate. I also have a light brown/dark brown versions. None were made in volume - only samples. FYI.
