Buck 119BR ?

Really? I thought it had something to do with the BRass pommel and guard...
'

2006 Buck price list I checked lists the 119BR as having cocobola handles. If I recall, the cocobola handles did have brass P & G., so perhaps that is the reason for BR. Makes sense.

I dunno...In any event, the 119BR (and 120BR) are the premium versions; brass instead of aluminum; Cocobola instead of...whatever that black phenolic is...

I have the standard versions...but I'm thinking maybe the brass should be in my hoard also...

(I'm not a collector...I'm a hoarder) :)

They Usually Have Br On Knives With Brown/wood Handles If There Is Another Knife Same Model But Different Handle.?

A Shepard Hills Cutlery I was in a few weeks ago, had 119's with brown Walnut handles and the regular silver colored guard and end cap.

Kinda wished I had got one after I thought about it.

GUESS I'M NOT SURE. THE VANGUARD HAS A COUPLE MODELS. I KNOW THE NUMBERS ARE DIFFERENT BUT THE BLACK HANDLED 692 HAS BK AND THE 192 WITH WALNUT HAS BR IN THE CATALOG.?

 If end up going back...The name is "Goose". Will eat a few double cheeseburgers for one.

Thanks for the info guys! This "Buck knife fever" is kinda rough. I'm a 112 away from eatin balaoney sandwiches! Hopin that 119 will work spreadin mayo on the whole wheat.

Fried baloney. My 119BR would work great on Miracle Whip. But it is not in my EDC arsenal. I'd rather have a 112 than a decent meal....go for it.

A girl wants to know if anyone has definitive answer because my cousin is too chicken to ask. By the way am I the only girl here?:D

Goshen...the only "BR" models I have seen are Brass hilt and guard. Have seen other woodys with silver and they didn't have the "BR" designation.

... By the way am I the only girl here?:D

Tough to say if you are the only girl here. I've not met anyone that posts here IRL but have seen recipes exchanged and a few cyber-cat fights.

The 192 isn't walnut either it is cocobola (laminated wood stained to cocobola coloring- I believe:D) It also has the brass P&F. Hope this helps you and your cousin :D
The 119's with walnut, cherrywood, Palm wood, and aluminum ends are not designated BR, they are 119-SP-XX-0.

I THOUGHT THE 692 AND THE 192 HAD BRASS P& F. AND I WAS PRETTY SURE THE CATALOG SAID WALNUT ON THE 192. I'M NOT SURE OF WHAT I THINK I THOUGHT TO BE TRUE. BY THE WAY, THANKS FOR WELCOMING MY COUSIN, SHE HELPS ME OUT SINCE I DONT HAVE A COMPUTER AT HOME. I THINK I CAN GET HER HOOKED ON BUCK!

LOL actually we are both wrong/right :D
The catalog says "woodgrain" handle, go figure.
Who knows how they determine model #'s anyway...
110's have brass on them but are not designated 110BR. There was only one that was (110BR) and it had the cocobola handles. I do not know why they choose BR as a designation for cocobola handles:confused:

Tell you what...You want to see eyeballs get the size of dinner plates??? Let a chick reach into her purse/pocket and pull out six inches of cold steel...  :p

I'm thinking a BCCI 112 w/Sambar Stag scales and Nickel bolsters would be a cool chick's knife... ;)

I MIGHT HAVE TO START HER OUT ON A 55 AND WORK UP TO A 112!
