My friend inherited a buck 120 when his grandpa died, but before that I'd never seen or heard of one before, have they been discontinued? I don't think I saw it on the Buck website. Real nice knife.

I guess they have been, they haven't been in Buck's catalog for at least the last two years. I didn't check back further than that.

Knife, Welcome to the Buck forum . Your Buck model 120 is not discontinued, they are still being made even today . However, Cabela's owns the exclusive rights to the model 120 and you can still find them there . They have had this model for sometime . Can you tell us the stamping on your 120 . DM

I thought anybody who wanted a run of 120s could get it.......as long as you wanted a couple hundred or so.

I've never been able to justify that many.

I see there's a new stag 120 out recently as well.

I think we have to call the 120 "semi-dis."

:D

well if you got money you can buy the rights to any thing!
now it is possible to buy exclusive rights for X years..
i think this most likely
i can not see buck selling complete rights as a forever thing..

BG, who has the stag 120s... ...

I saw three on the Bay........dark blue Limited Edition boxes, looked like.

I think they were $169 to $175.

One was kinda funny.....he said it had natural pressure cracks in the stag.

Well......I don't think I'd like that, thanks very much! I'll have one without cracks, I'm thinkin'.

:D

I want them to make a Chipflint 120, but as of today.......they say it's not in the works. I was thinking a nickel silver grizzly on the buffalo horn handle.......but they say no.

Now that's really too bad.

:thumbdn:

Is he charging any additional to add the cracks...or are they "free"?

Not sure if he charged extra......but he sure was trying to make it sound like those cracks were ok.

They were probably the reason he was dumping it.
