Made in the USA, under $100 dollars, 3/16" 420 HC stainless. Whats not to love?

Here's a new 119 Special, 2009 120 General, and late 60's(?) Buck 120.

This time the vintage on top, then '09 120, and 119 Special on bottom.

The vintage 120 has more material in the blade, and a smaller handle still. Very capable in the out doors also.

Just wanted to share my new love affair with these American classics. Please share your thoughts.

YES it has been disconitued,CABELAS was the last to stock it, but now they have stoped too.
I,m a big fan of this model my self.

I can't make out the stamping of the older 120 to determine its age . But based on the spacers it looks like from the 1972-1981 . Could you provide close up photos of the stamping . DM

What's not to love? The fact that when I decided I wanted one it was too late! Been looking for awhile with no luck. But on the other hand, while I was looking I discovered a 124 that I really like, and I didn't even know about them!

Here's the old:

My least favorite of which is one that comes with the W-mart Special 119. I can only imagine this thing keeps the unit cost down. It is pretty flimsy compared to the 1/2" thick welt on the leather one. None of the sheaths have rivets.

Yours looks to be---well, first tell me the spacers in the pommel so I can be sure . Thanks . DM

The spacers in the pommel of?

The 2009 120 came in the box with papers. The spacers look very much like 1/16" micarta.

The spacers are the different color material between the black phenolic handle and the solid silver at the end of the handle (pommel) . The number and color of these tells us collectors different things about the knife . DM

I hadn't noticed it before David, but the vintage model actually has a black/aluminum/black spacer setup on the pommel end.

I think your model 120 is a 1981 mfg. and the steel could be either 440C or 425M as it was a transition year . DM

Yes I bought two of the newly released cocobolo ones from two different dealers...Great knife!!I have a few of the black handles ones already....
