Jason, My brother married a girl from Trinidad. So, we travel there often visiting them. Some of those Akonua's have a thicker edge, espically the older ones. Try a steeper angle w/ the knife on a diamond stone should help. If your using a device holder w/ set angles try the 19 or 20 degree. Whats the stamping on the blade. Those are nice knives. DMOdly enough, those two are the only two fixed blade bucks I own. The Akonua has been a real headache for me to sharpen but I'm sure I'll get it there soon enough.
I really like the 402 Akonua for field dressing use of game up to 400lbs.. It also lends itself toward a sound survival tool far better than the 121. The two were built w/ very different purposes in mind. For boning or filleting I'd give the 121 the nod. DM
Knice knives Larry.
I think I "need" one of those 121 units.
David is your Akonua one with 440c?
Thanks
